Daylight savings has started and we are all loving the extra time in the evenings because the sun is still shining and the weather is super warm already too!
Here’s our little taste of what Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, has to offer in Spring…
It’s all go now with local events and markets that will be happening more frequently as the weather becomes more settled. The Little Big Markets is our local craft/food market that happens every two weeks in Coronation Park. Grab lunch from one of the amazing food trucks, listen to some great live music and take a seat on the grass to people watch!
Now that we are back in Level 1, more performers and bands are making their way to our most favourite local music venue, Totara St. Just a short walk from our hostel, you can get some pre-drinks at Social Club or Voodoo Lounge before heading to Totara St for the gig.
For those keen to do something a little more adventurous, Spring is when our marine life really starts to get exciting with the sea alive with activity! We totally recommend a day trip on one of the many tours we can book for you such as Dolphin Seafaris, Bay Explorer or Orca Wild Adventures. Get out on the ocean, swim with dolphins and maybe even see a whale or two! Spring is a great time where marine life is active throughout our pristine coastline.
Perhaps one of our fav spring activities though is just maxing out the later sunsets and warmer evenings with a cold beer or two on Pilot Bay. If it’s a sunny day, you can hit the beach and start working on your summer tan! If you are in the Mount just visiting for a few days, we will always recommend climbing to the top of Mauao—it’s the best when you catch a sunrise or sunset from the top, the view will take your breath away!
Our friendly staff can help you make the most of your time in Mount Maunganui, so why not pop by reception for a chat—we will make sure you have an amazing time!
